Santa's dinner

Guess Who’s Coming to Santa’s for Dinner

Get into the Christmas Spirit with Santa and Family. Author Tomie dePaola tells a fun tale of Christmas mayhem with all of Santa’s extended family. I have taken this cute story and created Day 2 of Grab and Go Lessons for our 12 Days of Homeschooling through the Holiday’s series. If you missed Day 1 look for it here.

Grab your own copy, order it from Amazon, pick it up from the Library OR Watch the YouTube Version of it here!

I love how Tomie dePaola shares the sweet and chaotic story of family get togethers in a fun and hilarious way. We are using his strong family theme for the first few printables in our Grab and Go lessons.

Make your Family Tree.

Use this first printable to discuss your own unique family. Feel free to extend it beyond what is on here, and if you are even more daring and creative, make it a family project to fill in as many family relationships as you can.

Family Tree

In the complete packet there are family pictures that can be used to cut out, or feel free to have your student draw in their family.

Favorite Christmas memory

Most of us can think of a favorite memory at Grandma’s house. Encourage your student to draw those memories in the photos or if they aren’t into drawing they can write about it.

Grammar and English Skills

If your student needs some extra punctuation practice, this cute tree themed worksheet will help with that. Your student will read each sentence and determine if they need to use the question mark, period, or exclamation point at the end. They can then have fun coloring each tree.

Math Skills

No dinner is going to happen without a shopping list and money to pay for it. Encourage your student to practice their money counting skills with this worksheet. Santa has to prepare dinner for his family and needs to purchase groceries from the North Pole Shop n Save. Students will count the money in each box and decide what item they can purchase for Santa’s dinner.
