Homeschooling through the holidays is hard. With all the excitement of the Christmas season and the many activities that keep us busy it’s hard to stay focused on school. Once December hits, I try to keep learning going with fun, hands on activities that give us a break from our usual schedule. This week as part of the 12 Days of Christmas fun, we are starting with the classic book If you Take a Mouse to the Movies.
Today’s Holiday Grab and Go lesson is perfect for your K-3rd grade student.
If you don’t happen to have the book on hand, no worries! Click Here and watch the reading of the book.
Feel free to take the day off of school guilt free because this day long unit study has activities for each of the main subject areas.
After watching or reading the story, have fun practicing reading comprehension and understanding with both of these story sequencing activities. Cut out the story sequencing strips and retell the story as your student places them on the story mat.
What happens next? This printable can be used for students that are not quite reading yet, or for some extra practice. They can retell the story by using just the pictures. Cut out the what’s next picture cues and place them in order.
Practice Grammar, Spelling and Handwriting by having your student fix the incorrect sentence on this printable.
Let’s not forget those Math Facts! Make it more fun by discovering the secret message that the mouse is hiding.
Every day can’t be fun and games but today can be! Grab a die and a game marker for each student. Then cut out the popcorn to play this cute game that has silly and educational questions that need to be answered.
Grab all these Fun Printables right here.
Don’t forget for each day of the 12 Days series, I will be sharing a Grab and Go lesson that you can download and get started on right away for a little extra Christmas Cheer, if you are not already on my email list, hop to it so you don’t miss out! Don’t forget to hop over and see what the rest of our team of homeschool bloggers have put together as part of the 12 Days of Homeschooling through the Holidays series
